short modules for burstlining

The Burstlining method

Pipe bursting and caliber bursting methods are cost-effective alternatives to open conventional line constructions and offer a great advantage through this trenchless technology in densely populated urban areas.
Static pipe bursting is a trenchless rehabilitation method that replace damaged pipes without having a physically remove them. The process can be carried out from pit to pit, by passing manholes in between. In busy streets under yards and sidewalks, static pipe bursting has proven to be very efficient because it doesn't affect any other utility lines in the vicinity.
The result is a new self-supporting pipe system with good hydraulic properties, which allows a certain extention of the cross-section. Because there’s no need to remove or dispose of the failed pipe, project time and cost is likewise minimized.

INSTALLATION TECHNIQUE

The static pipe bursting technique involves the use of bursting rods or tracton rods, cutting blades, a conical expander and the CONDOR short modules. The bursting rods are inserted from the start pit one at a time by attaching it to subsequent rods till the rod string reaches the target pit. At the target pit, the cutting blade followed by the expander and the CONDOR short modules are attached to the rod string.

Substantial length of pipes can be replaced at one and requires only minimal staff.

For the bursting technique CONDOR supplies two different short module pipes either with snaplock joint (type S) or with conical scewed connection (type T).
Please note, when using the CONDOR short modules type S, the short module pipeline has to be secured by a clamping device. CONDOR short modules type T does not require a clamping device so far the allowed pulling forces will not be excided (see pull force table).

Trenchless technology uses new techniques and equipment to install or replace underground infrastructure without causing disturbance to the ground above. Its goal is to avoid interfering with surface-level activities, including traffic, businesses, residential areas or people.
